The concept of Master Class (MC) is well known in the world of arts (e.g music),
less so in science.
A MC is and intensive simultaneous 'sparring-session' between a 'master' and a group of
students or young professionals. The purpose is generally to provide the attendees with a flavour of the challenges
and opportunities of professional life, answer questions related to the profession, or to practice a very specific
part of the discipline.
B-IWA is exploring the scientific MC concept and will evaluate if
it can be a novel alternative to the poster competition, as a way
to engage and train young professionals for the water/environmental sector.
The MC will be a one-hour highly interactive session, with a master that is a
top-professional from the 3 sections represented in B-IWA
(i.e. academics, business/industry and Government).
A maximum of 20 students or young professionals is welcome to attend
(typically under 35 years old, but without strict age limits).
The Masterclass will normally precede the Happy Hour.
Interested persons can apply via the secretariat secretariat.
